ESRAG Drawdown is the Climate Solutions Task Force.
Working to help Rotary clubs and districts implement projects that help reverse global warming.
We have a partnership with Project Drawdown Learn and use their framework of Climate Solutions including renewable energy, reducing food waste, cleaner cookstoves and plant rich diet to empower implementation of action-based projects
What is drawdown?
Our planet is on a trajectory to global warming well in excess of 2C which will cause significant economic and humanitarian hardship for communities around the world.
There is an urgent need for the world to reach “Drawdown”— the point in the future when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline, thereby stopping catastrophic climate change — as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible.
While government, financial markets, businesses all play significant roles in tackling the Climate Crisis, so too can community and individual actions.
With Rotary’s extensive global network and trusted brand we are uniquely placed to create significant impact throughout communities around the world to implement solutions to help ‘flatten the curve’ of rising greenhouse gases.
The ESRAG Drawdown Climate Solutions Taskforce works to inspire, support and empower the Rotary Family to form teams that implement climate solutions locally, regionally and globally.
We do this by developing systems and tools to support Climate Solutions Education , implementation of projects and activities and the formation of Collaborative Relationships
In particular we facilitate the formation of Solutions Task Forces that bring together enthusiastic experts and volunteers to work on solutions such as:
- Renewable Energy
- Reducing Food Waste
- Plant Rich Diets
- Cleaner Cookstoves
we work to leverage the Rotary Brand and Network to create a movement of ‘changemakers’

We meet monthly as a taskforce team to develop the systems and projects. We are part of the ESRAG Drawdown family of Solutions Taskforces.
